I am ready to start some massive ark building!
Oh yeah, and I had hoped I'd never have to resort to talking about the weather in my blog, but dammit if there hasn't been 3 days of non-stop rain in Sydney. What a bummer. Mind you, I feel like I'm back in Boston again, but I want my sun! :)
Of course I don't have an umbrella because I consistently lose them in restaurants, so I've been pretty damp the last few days.
Oh, and my boss thinks I should start wearing a hair-net at work because I'm shedding like a dog on all the chairs! It's true--you'd think we had a golden retriever in our office..that's what you get for having long hair! I keep saying I'm going to cut my hair, but it's been two years now. I vowed never to let my hair touch my ass...but I think I'll wait till after I come back from my Christmas in Boston/Springfield to get a trim--I want to freak my family out with how long it is and count how many people say "you need a haircut, Lori!" :)

I had to go get my complete medical exam today for the visa stuff. Chest x-rays, blood tests, urine tests, the whole works. All my old friends would know that I'm not that fond of blood (understatement!) and back in the day, I was known to pass out at the doctor's office. I haven't fainted in a long time and I wanted to keep that record, so I told the woman taking my blood that I would not be looking while she did it. And she kept trying to get me to look. A lot of doctors and nurses do that! Hello, I know my body! I know not to look. She was really sweet though and said, "So what's up with the butterflies?" And she start counting all my butterfly things. Then she tells me that she should use a regular needle to draw blood, but for me she'll use a special "butterfly something something" needle. Hahahahahhaa...so that was funny. I think she was disappointed that the damn butterfly needle wasn't enough to get me to look! One of my doctors was this sweet elderly man and he was like, "Are you wearing a two piece? Are you wearing a bra? Nevermind, we'll try not to move any clothing!" He was so concerned about me not having to take off my clothes. I was thinking, "whatever, he's a doctor, I don't care if he has to see me naked", but it was really cool of him to be so concerned. :)

Why do I always do this to myself? I have a history of watching freaky scary bad movies that will give me nightmares when I'm all alone and it's dark outside and late at night. I just finished watching Intensity and I was disturbed. It was enough to creep me out, despite it not being that good a movie. But I'm alone, and a wuss, apparently. I will have to do some serious pleasant reading before I go to bed. Nice, sweet story with happy ending is required!
I spent the day @ the Newtown Festival...good time. I met up with a band member from The Drugs that I interviewed earlier in the week. I met up with friends, lost friends, missed friends, and found some again. Met lots of nice guys from other local bands and scored some CDs. The Newtown Festival was massive! I didn't realise how big Camperdown Park is. They had four stages and what seemed like hundreds of stalls/stands etc. The place was packed and the weather was good. Excellent time, especially because it cost nada!
